Authentic You: Counselling, Assessment & Addictions Services Inc. is expanding! We’re a thriving private practice on the south side of Edmonton, rooted in authenticity, autonomy, and community. Our space was formerly home to a grief and trauma practice, and we’re proud to continue this legacy by creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for both clinicians and clients.

Authentic You started as a solo venture, built through word-of-mouth, strategic marketing, and a strong online presence. Today, we’ve grown into a trusted, sought-after space for mental health services across Alberta and British Columbia.

Our growth hasn’t relied on a traditional referral network — instead, it’s been driven by:

💼 Current Openings

  • Registered Psychologists (Independent Contractor)

  • Compensation: 65/35 split (in your favour)

  • Eligible for 70/30 split after 1 year or 25+ clients/week

🧠 Scope of Services – Counselling, Assessment & Addictions
All clinicians at Authentic You must offer Addictions Counselling and Services as part of their practice, alongside other areas of interest. We support clinicians in shaping their caseloads around their passions and strengths, while ensuring addictions work remains a central part of our service.

Counselling Services may include:

  • Trauma-informed individual therapy

  • Addictions counselling & relapse prevention planning (required)

  • Gender, sex, and intimacy therapy (2SLGBTQIA+ affirming)

  • Anxiety, depression, burnout, and mood disorders

  • Life transitions, identity exploration, grief & loss

  • Relationship and attachment-based counselling

  • Support for first responders, caregivers, and helping professionals

  • Culturally responsive and inclusive care

Assessment Services may include:

  • Psychological assessments

  • Addictions assessments (required if qualified)

  • Risk assessments

  • Forensic assessments

  • Return-to-work, disability, or functional capacity assessments

Addictions Services (required):

  • Individual therapy for substance use & behavioural addictions (e.g., gambling, sex, technology)

  • Harm reduction, abstinence-based, or blended approaches

  • Recovery planning & relapse prevention

  • Psychoeducation & family support

  • Outpatient & inpatient referral coordination

  • Opportunities to co-develop in-house addiction services (e.g., recovery groups, structured therapy programs)

🌱 What You’ll Receive

  • A private, fully furnished office in a purpose-built therapy space

  • Full administrative support (billing, bookings, inquiries)

  • Use of JaneApp and secure telepsych platforms

  • Strong online presence and marketing handled for you

  • Flexibility to create your own schedule & caseload

  • Optional peer consultation, collaboration, and team events

  • A culture of acceptance, humour, and real support

🙋 Who You Are

  • A Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)

  • Skilled in or open to working with diverse populations

  • Competent and confident in addictions counselling/services (required)

  • Also interested in trauma, sex and gender therapy, and/or assessments (asset, not required)

  • Grounded in authenticity, ethics, and a collaborative spirit

  • Values autonomy, inclusivity, and a supportive, non-competitive culture
